1 in 3 B.C. Workers Earn Below Living Wage: Report

British Columbia's minimum wage rises by 65 cents to $17.40 an hour on Saturday, but a report by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and Living Wage for Families B.C. shows one-third of workers still don't earn a living wage. Living wages range from $20.64 to $26.51 across the province. Advocacy groups urge a $20 minimum wage and lower living costs, noting significant gender and racial disparities among low-wage earners.
