Boeing to plead guilty, pay $243M fine for fatal crashes

Boeing will plead guilty to criminal fraud related to two 737 Max crashes that killed 346 people, including Canadians. The plea deal, pending court approval, includes a $243.6 million fine for breaching a previous settlement with the U.S. Justice Department. Boeing must also invest in safety programs and accept an independent monitor. The agreement covers Boeing's misconduct before the crashes but excludes immunity for other incidents. Families of crash victims criticize the deal as insufficient accountability.
