Canada reclaimed the world women's hockey championship, defeating the U.S. 6-5 in overtime in Utica, N.Y. Danielle Serdachny scored the winning goal on a power play. Captain Marie-Philip Poulin contributed two goals, despite recent injuries. Goalie Ann-Renee Desbiens made 19 saves. This was Canada's 13th gold medal in 23 tournaments. The high-scoring game featured 30 PWHL players from both teams, showcasing the intense rivalry. Finland won bronze, and the 2025 championship will be in Czechia.
