The Quebec government will spend over $3 million to equip all public schools with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). This will involve installing 1,558 AEDs in elementary schools, high schools, and training centers to achieve 100% coverage. Currently, 93% of high schools, 51% of elementary schools, and 70% of training centers have AEDs. This initiative follows cardiologist Dr. Paul Poirier's campaign to equip all schools with defibrillators to improve survival rates for cardiac arrest victims.
