Job Security in Canada Hits Lowest Since Covid

Canadians' job security sentiment has dropped to 44.9%, the lowest since May 2020, a Nanos Research Group poll for Bloomberg News shows. Nearly 29% are unsure about job security, up 11 points in two months. Despite this, layoffs are low, and Indeed job postings are above pre-pandemic levels. Youth employment has sharply declined to 55% in March, while core-aged workers remain over 84% employed. Canada's unemployment rate rose to 6.1% in March, missing expectations.
