Latest Plastics Ban in B.C.: What You Need to Know

Starting July 15, British Columbians will no longer receive plastic and Styrofoam takeout containers, and will be charged for new shopping bags under the province's latest single-use plastic regulations. This aligns with federal rules aiming to reduce plastic waste. B.C. has already banned items like single-use plastic cutlery and certain straws. Future bans will target materials like PVC film wrap by 2028 and foam containers for raw meat by 2030, giving businesses time to adjust.
