New Study Suggests Multivitamins May Not Extend Lifespan

A recent study published in JAMA Network Open examined data from over 390,000 participants to determine if daily multivitamin use affects longevity. Despite hopes for health benefits, researchers found no association between multivitamin use and extended lifespan. In fact, during the initial 12 years of follow-up, multivitamin users showed a slight increase in mortality risk compared to non-users, though this effect diminished over time. While multivitamins may support brain health, they are not a guarantee of longer life and should supplement, not replace, a balanced diet.
