Off-Duty Paramedic Honoured for Rescuing Officer

Off-duty Simcoe County paramedic Geoff D’Eon was on a grocery run during a snowstorm when he rescued an injured police officer. On Jan. 13, D’Eon found the officer, who had slipped on ice, lying in the road near a jackknifed truck. As another car slid toward them, D’Eon pulled the officer to safety. For his bravery, D’Eon received the Ontario Medal for Paramedic Bravery.
