Who's Responsible for Space Junk Falling to Earth

In March 2022, a couple in São Mateus do Sul, Brazil, found a 600-kg piece of SpaceX debris near their home. Similar incidents occurred in Australia and Saskatchewan, Canada. Space junk falls more frequently due to increased space traffic. The Outer Space Treaty holds countries liable for damage caused by their space objects. With rising satellite launches, the risk of debris hitting someone is growing, estimated at 20-30% over the next decade.
